Grand Horizontal

If only I could be like the lovely, reclining woman on the cover of Grand Horizontal The Erotic Memoirs of A passionate lady, by Cora Swan.

She only lived 1835 - 1886. So I guess if really was her I wouldn't be sick I'd be dead. Oh hahahaCHOO! Along with the above book she also published The Memoirs of Cora Pearl. So she only wrote two books but then, I imagine she was pretty busy being a courtesan.

I am horizontal but there the comparison ends. I'm bedfast with a setback,
my friends. Weak and sometimes dizzy. Pneumonia. The flu. So I'm a little closer to this picture:

Yes, I know, I used the same picture on my facebook pages. Guess why?
Because I'm sick! Jeez!

Oh, poor you - get well soon.

And thanks for posting that book cover - something I'd like to look into.

I agree. Felix calls me his Grand Horizontal. So I thought for this blog I'd check it out and that's what I found. What an enchanting nom de plume.
Cora Swan.

I hope you recover at the speed of lightning, and that soon you'll be fully employing that daybed for recreational purposes.

I'd be happy to simply lie on that day bed and eat grapes.
